We have a number of projects whose aim is to empower people to live a more healthy and independent lifestyle. We have a luncheon club, cookery classes, foodbank, community garden, food co-op and are taking over sessions run by Powys Befrienders. We tackle health inequalities as well as other issues such as isolation and loneliness. We are funded by charitable donations as well as fund raising activities and many of our projects are either helped or lead by volunteers. There are no criteria for using any of our projects and services, we are open to all. We come under the umbrella of the Swansea and Brecon Diocesan Council for Social Responsibility, but it is not a religious centre, it is a community centre. The council believes in fostering education and empowerment for all.
The luncheon club happens weekly on Monday afternoons. It is regularly attended by older people who enjoy a home-cooked, two-course meal in the company of friends.
