Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO) is the Umbrella Body for the county’s Third Sector. It is the County Voluntary Council for Powys and works to specifications agreed with the Welsh Government.
PAVO is an independent charity, which operates on behalf of all Third Sector organisations. Any voluntary organisation operating within the county is eligible to become a member of PAVO.
PAVO’s mission is to help organisations and improve people’s lives. It does this by fulfilling its strategic purpose as a:
CATALYST for voluntary action by enabling innovation, supporting volunteers and helping third sector organisations to operate effectively, deliver quality services and become sustainable.
VOICE for voluntary organisations and community groups so that their views are heard and influence policy development and service planning and delivery and so that citizens’ views and experiences are heard and understood by decision makers.
