The substance Misuse Service deliver, within recognised models of Primary and Secondary care -guidance, assessment, advice and a range of evidence based treatment and interventions to individuals who require support in addressing their substance misuse difficulties. The team is multidisciplinary, that includes community psychiatric nurses, social workers, substance misuse workers, forging effective working relationships with other local agencies, to help provide a holistic approach to care and recovery. The service offers, in way of treatment, Home detox, Residential rehabilitiation opportunities, that are funded through the local authority, Alcohol Support Groups, Relapse Prevention Groups, Auricular Acupuncture, 1-1 CBT based intervention for those service users already in treatment, advice and treatment around Blood Borne Virus, with a very robust vaccination programme and of course Harm Reduction, Needle/Syringe Exchange and Substitute Prescribing. Our current Assessment times are Monday 1-4pm and Thursday 9.30-11.30 (No Appointment Necessary) and we offer Auricular Acupuncture for those service users already in treatment, on Wednesday 5.30-6.30 and Friday 1-2pm. These times are subject to change.
