Stroke Association

The Stroke Association is the UK's leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke, and the vision is to have a world where there are fewer strokes and believes in Life after Stroke. We work to try to help Stroke survivors and their families cope in the aftermath of a Stroke by providing much needed support and advice. The Stroke Association's mission is to prevent strokes through research, education and raising awareness of high blood pressure and Arterial Fibrillation, AF also known as an irregular heartbeat.
We provide Information stands and recruit volunteers to help with our service provision.
As a Coordinator, my role is to help and support the stroke survivor and their families, providing emotional support, advice, offering practical help when it is needed the most. My role involves liaising with all of the Primary health teams, on the wards and in the Community, such as physios and Occupational Therapists, and collaborating with all of the third sector organisations. One of my main roles is to support the Carers of Stroke survivors in the community and on the wards to manage this life changing situation.
