Women's Institutes within Powys Montgomery Federation (PMFWI) offer their members a vast program of events organised at local level each month with speakers, demonstrations and social evenings, too vast to mention, we can honestly say there really is something for everyone!
The Federation also offer a variety of events to bring our WI's and members together, for fun and friendship. With arts, crafts, music, drama, public affairs, science and sport & leisure, including the popular "Spring show" hosted by our Lifestyle sub-committee each May, where our members have the opportunity to display their handiwork in cookery, painting, drawing, photography, floral art, and crafts in all mediums set to a theme, a wonderful day for both competitors as well as visitors to this event, very much a shop window of our Powys Montgomery Federation.
Our Arts & Entertainment sub-committee, organise a variety of trips, including shopping and theatre, as well our in-house entertainment evening usually taking place in October, not to be missed, a much loved event by our members.
Sporting events are well supported by our members, with at least one sporting event taking place each month, including Badminton, darts, dominoes, table tennis, short tennis, bowling, short and outdoor, croquet and Kurling a recent addition to our sporting diary is walking Netball, members are enjoying taking part in this new event.
Communities & Campaigns sub committee actively work to raise awareness of the campaigns supported each year by National Federation of WI's as well as NFWI-Wales, such as "SoS Honeybees", "Cool – Country of Origin Labelling" , "Love Your Libraries", "Campaign Against Violence Against Women" "Save Our High Streets". The list is endless.
Our Membership Committee support WIs and membership offering training and advise, in conjunction with our WI Advisors.
Last but not least the Board of Trustees oversee all the Committees and management of the Federation, giving members the best experience and enjoyment from WI, arranging Social Events, Open Gardens and the popular festive Turkey and Tinsel trip.
