We are a homeless charity with a difference! We offer a home, a job and a purpose for disadvantaged people who have faced or are threatened with homelessness.
The Emmaus South Wales Community home can provide accommodation for up to 24 formerly homeless and jobless people, called Companions, who will come off benefits (except housing benefit) and take up full-time work in the Community's Social Enterprise. Companions can stay for as long as they wish and get the support they need to get their lives back on track. Training is also on offer, to give Companions the opportunity to develop their skills and qualifications.
We have three stores in Bridgend and Porthcawl which operate as re-use shops. We also run a house clearance service, and online sales, and we operate Lucie the Land Train in Porthcawl. Our enterprises provide meaningful work opportunities for the Companions and also the funding to keep our Community home running.
