Registered Charity

Area 43 provides a safe, fun, informative and inspiring space for young people to access support. We aim to empower young people to express themselves by engaging with the issues that affect them directly. We do this through educative, participative practice, enabling them to develop knowledge, understanding and positive attitudes towards their communities by being inclusive and non-judgemental in our approach.

We run a ‘Drop-in centre’ from our administrative hub in Cardigan, providing an informal, caring, non-discriminatory and non-judgmental environment where young people (aged 16-25) can socialise with their peers and access a range of quality information and support from trained and experienced staff.

The centre provides free hot drinks, subsidised food and an internet cafe. We also offer a range of engaging activities which are delivered in an informal environment.

These include many kinds of Arts and Crafts and Personal Development activities such as Confidence Building, Communication Skills, Emotional Literacy and Practical Life Skills.

Area 43 is an Agored Cymru registered training centre, which enables us to offer accreditation for a range of these activities.

We offer a fully professional and confidential counselling service to any young person aged 16-25 years at our Cardigan centre. Area 43 also contracts with Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion County Councils to deliver a Schools Based Counselling Service to all secondary school aged young people and year 6 primary pupils across both counties.
