Pembrokeshire Foodbank (in association with the Trussell Trust and Acts West Wales)

The Pembrokeshire foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust -which is the largest network of foodbanks in the UK. Vouchers for three days of emergency food aid are issued to clients by professionals, such as health and social workers, who understand their circumstances of food poverty. Vouchers are then redeemed at one of the four foodbank centres that operate on different days of the week in the county. Food vouchers can also be redeemed at any PATCH foodbank centre through a collaborative arrangement.

In addition to the voucher system, the Pembrokeshire Foodbank operates a 'Food Share' in collaboration with the charity FareShare. The Food Share is a scheme to reduce food waste and is open to anyone in the community so no voucher is required. It is not known from week to week what participating supermarkets will donate, but most weeks bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables are available. At the Narberth Foodbank Centre, a portion of the Food Share vegetables are made into a vegetable soup. This soup is free to clients or by donation to anyone in the community.

The foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis. We also take time to listen and signpost people to further support.
