1st COWSHACC

Officially opened in January 2015, 1st Clive’s Own Welshpool Scout Headquarters and Community Centre (COWSHACC) is a modern, spacious and eco-friendly building with a large main hall, two smaller rooms ideal for formal or informal meetings plus a variety of other uses, a fully fitted catering kitchen, licensed bar, free WiFi and lots of parking, it's a cut above most other centre’s.

It’s owned by the Scout Group who have strived for many years to obtain funding for such a centre and was first talked about in 2008. With a small team of paid staff, the Centre, since it’s creation, is looking to be managed and staffed by local people, for local people. It is a Community Centre in the true sense of the word. People of all ages, abilities and from all walks of life can play an active role within the Centre. Any Volunteers involvement will promote personal development, self-esteem and self-confidence.

It’s already home to a diverse range of clubs, groups and committees and is also available for private hire. – An ideal venue for wedding receptions, family celebrations, children’s parties, exhibitions, dances, indoor sports, conferences, training events and much more.

The main hall can be configured in a number of ways to suit requirements and the type of event; theatre style seating a capacity of 140, cabaret style with a capacity up to 120 seated at 12 x 6” round tables, and a maximum of 220 standing for concerts.
