ELITE and Neath Port Talbot Group of colleges, including Brecon Beacons College, are jointly providing a supported Internship Programme aimed at young people in their last year at the college. Supported Internships provide young people with additional learning needs access to employment opportunities to gain work experience.
The Supported Internship allows the Interns to develop the skills needed to access paid employment opportunities.
The Supported Internship also offers improved life-skills, confidence and wellbeing.
The programme runs in partnership with Neath Port Talbot County Council, Margam Park and a range of local employers to provide work experience.
The programme is open to all ALN students within the college and offers a 12 month person centred supported internship.
The Supported Internship provides an opportunity to undertake work experience and/or volunteering.
The Supported Internship enhances and improves the intern's opportunities to secure paid employment.
The Supported Internship promotes confidence building, and increases life and employability skills.
