Splott Community Volunteers is a community-based charity founded in 2015 that supports people facing food, fuel and social poverty in Splott and surrounding areas. From our base at the old STAR Centre in Splott, we take a holistic approach to meeting local needs and improving quality of life.
Alleviating food poverty is at the heart of what we do. Every week, we provide a hot meal and fresh food to take away at our community breakfast club. We also run three weekly social mornings with hot drinks and snacks, host monthly tea parties for over-65s, distribute meal kits, and organise community lunches and picnics.
To address fuel poverty we run winter warm clubs, distribute warm packs, provide foodbank and fuelbank vouchers, and offer energy and debt advice through partner organisations.
