Dementia Friendly Rhyl is a group of people who meet each month. We are working to become a Dementia Friendly Town and our application to achieve this status was approved in 2024.
We try to make ourselves aware of any information regarding events or training happening in north Wales which may benefit those living with dementia or those caring for someone living with dementia, so that we can pass on this information. We actively promote the Herbert Protocol.
The Herbert Protocol is a national scheme encouraging carers and family members to compile useful key information which could be used in the event of a vulnerable person going missing.
In the event of a family member or friend going missing, the information can easily be sent to frontline police officers and PCSOs, to reduce the time taken in gathering this information and will provide those involved in the search for the missing person with essential information to promote their safe return.
Copies of the forms can be collected from Rhyl Tourist Information Centre or completed online here: https://www.northwales.police.uk/notices/af/herbert-protocol/
