infoengine Privacy Notice

infoengine is committed to respecting and protecting the right of individuals to privacy.


This notice explains when and why we collect personal information about people who visit or upload service information to the infoengine website, how and why we use this data, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.


We may update this notice from time to time so please check this page occasionally to ensure that you’re happy with any changes.  By using our website, you’re agreeing to be bound by this this notice.

Who are we?


infoengine is the Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) online directory of third sector services throughout Wales.  It is managed by the following TSSW partners:-

These partners are the data controllers of any personal information on infoengine.

What information do we collect about you, how and why?


Cookies


For many visitors to our site we do not collect any personal information.  However, when we provide services, we want to make them easy, useful and reliable. This sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your device, such as your computer or mobile phone. These include small files known as cookies.


Our cookies contain no data specific to an individual, so that your privacy remains protected. They don’t contain your email address, nor do they tell us who you are.


We use cookies to monitor our website, its usage including visitor numbers and page views. We also use cookies to improve your user experience whilst on our website, including:


  • enabling a service to recognise your device so you don’t have to give the same information during one task
  • recognising that you have already given a username and password so you don’t need to enter it for every web page requested


How can I stop cookies and what effect will this have?

If you are looking for services in your area


The only time that we will collect personal information about you if you are visiting our site to look for services is if you create a short list.  We will then ask you for an email address, so that we can send you updates to your shortlist.   It is necessary for us to keep this information in order to deliver this update service.  This is the lawful purpose for which we process your information and we will not use the information to contact you for any other reason.  


If you decide that you no longer want to receive updates to your shortlist, please contact infoengine@pavo.org.uk or write to infoengine, PAVO, 30 Ddole Road, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, LD1 6DF and we will remove your contact details from the system.  


If you are registering an organisation 


If you visit our site to register your organisation we need to collect information about your organisation to publish on the site, so that people can access your services.  All information that you provide us with about your services, including the organisation address and contact information, will be displayed.  If you provide a work email address that contains your name, this is your personal information.  If you don’t want this to be publicised, we recommend that you set up a generic email address such as info@.. or enquiries@.. instead.   


We will also use your contact information to send you auto refresh notices every six months, so that you can check your service details and confirm that they are up to date and correct.  If you do not respond to these notices, we will use other contact information provided by you through the registration process to ascertain whether your organisation wishes to continue their registration on infoengine.  If they do not wish to do so, we will delete all information provided during the registration process. Please note that you are able to delete your organisation from the system at any time, either via your login or by contacting infoengine@pavo.org.uk.   


These are the lawful purposes for which we process your information and we will not use this information to contact you for any other reason.  


Please note that under the terms and conditions of registration, each organisation is responsible for the accuracy of the information that is displayed on the site and is required to update this information as necessary to ensure that it remains up to date.  


Who will the information be shared with?


Shortlist contact information


This information will be shared with the website managers, 3ev, The Workshop, 11 Queens Place, Hove, BN3 2LT, who will store the information on their servers in the EEA and may use it in the course of their administrative and maintenance functions. 


Organisation contact information


This information will be shared with 3ev for storage, administration and maintenance purposes and will also be displayed on infoengine, so that it can be viewed by visitors to the site.


How do we protect your information?


We have in place administrative, technical and physical measures, both on our website and internally, designed to guard against and minimise the risk of loss, misuse or unauthorised processing or disclosure of the personal information that we hold.


Your rights


You have rights as an individual that you can exercise in relation to the personal information we hold about you. These are:-


  • a right of access to a copy of the information comprised in your personal data
  • a right to object to processing that is likely to cause or is causing damage or distress
  • a right to prevent processing for direct marketing
  • a right to object to decisions being taken by automated means
  • a right in certain circumstances to have inaccurate personal data rectified, blocked, erased or destroyed
  • a right to claim compensation for damages caused by a breach of the Data Protection Act.
