Care and Repair Carmarthenshire is a home improvement agency assisting older (60 years +) home owners and 'private' tenants to carry out repairs and/or adaptations to their homes so that they can live independently, safely and comfortably. We provide advice and practical assistance through a team of Caseworkers and Technical officers. We also employ handypersons to carry out small works and run a list of 'preferred' contractors for larger or more specialised work.
Our staff carry out Healthy Home Check to assess need and discuss what funding may be available to help with paying for any necessary work. We can also help with checking welfare entitlements and advise on issues regarding affordable warmth and energy efficiency.
We work in partnership with the local authority, health board, fire and rescue services and a range of third sector organisations.
