Type 2 Diabetes 'Journey' information / NHS Wales / Wales Diabetes Network

This info-graphic has been created by NHS Wales to promote all the services and resources available for people diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes living in Wales.

Around 190,000 people in Wales are currently being treated for diabetes. It’s estimated that a further 70,000 people in Wales have Type 2 diabetes, but are either unaware they have it or haven’t been diagnosed.

There is a range of options for a person living with Type 2 Diabetes to access free of charge including online education; videos to watch on laptops, mobile phones and smart TVs; local group information sessions ranging from one 2 hour session to a six week course etc. This info-graphic highlights the journey that can be taken by a person living with Type 2 Diabetes, whether they access one or all of the services is their choice. There are different ways of treating Type 2 diabetes; some people can manage it by healthier eating, being more active and losing weight. Education is key!
