Menter Dinefwr is a voluntary social enterprise, established as a Menter Iaith (Welsh language initiative) in 1999 and as an agency to support the community and the local economy. We work to:
- support and provide opportunities to use the Welsh language;
- develop our local communities;
- contribute to economic growth and job creation.
Our headquarters are in Hengwrt, Llandeilo, with a second office in Ammanford. We serve the Dinefwr area in east Carmarthenshire, and we have projects and associated companies working across Wales and beyond. Our work covers the following areas:
- the Welsh language;
- culture, heritage and the arts;
- community and social events;
- children, young people and families;
- supporting schools, organisations, clubs and businesses;
- Welsh merchandise and book shops, through our company, Gofal Plant;
- translation, training and consultation services, through our company, Trywydd.
