A man's shed has, for generations, been a place for him to escape the stress and strains of life; a safe haven to gain much needed sanity; to be surrounded by his own useful things; a place to think; to make things; to mend things; to invent. Men the world over have done this largely on their own.
Men's Sheds is a new way for men to pursue their interests, develop new ones, belong to a unique group, feel useful, fulfilled and have a sense of belonging. The Men's Shed movement has arrived in Wales. Men's Shed is a safe and nurturing environment where men can go to work on projects and activities which interest them.
Men's Sheds welcome everyone who has time on their hands, whether that is due to unemployment, retirement, bereavement, disability or simply if someone is new to an area and wants to know what is going on within the community.
We meet every Wednesday 7pm - 9pm at The Portakabins. Old Station Road, off Station Road, Letterston, Pembrokeshire.
Everyone over 16 is welcome. We would like to extend a warm welcome to other groups who may wish to use the premises either at the same time in a different room or on another day of the week.
Activities include tea/coffee, chats and planning - this Men's Shed is just starting and you can be a part of its development. Carpentry, photography, flytying, computer skills, creative writing, music and cooking are all on the agenda and any suggestions for other activities are very welcome.
