Care and Repair can also arrange a free Healthy Home assessment which helps people manage better and stay safe, warm and secure at home, including:

-Falls, trips and slips prevention
-Fire Safety check
-Energy efficiency
-Home safety and security

Agreed works such as stair rails, grab rails and steps could be carried out by Care and Repair’s own adaptations team or funded by grants.

Age Cymru Powys will undertake a free benefit check service and have access to other services to help our farming community connect with others, including:

-Befriending services
-Mental health support to reduce stress
-Later life goal planning and preparation for the future
-Advocacy and supporting individuals to get their wishes heard

Who do we support
The service is to support individuals over the age of 50 living in Powys and working in the farming community, whether farming, farm workers or retired from farming, enabling them to stay living at home safely and independently and to tackle loneliness and isolation.
