Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)

We all wonder, occasionally, what would happen if we had an accident or an illness that meant we couldn’t make our own decisions any longer. Who would make those decisions for us?

With a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), you can appoint one or more people whom you trust to help you make decisions or to make decisions on your behalf, should the worst happen.

There are two types of LPA:

Property and Finance LPA
• Looking after your bills
• Making investments for you
• Buying, selling or maintaining your property
• Giving gifts on your behalf

Health and Welfare LPA
• Whether you live at home or in a care home.
• The leisure activities, diet and kinds of clothes you prefer.
• What happens to your pets if you lose mental capacity.
• Whether to accept medical treatment to keep you alive beyond a certain point.

Single LPA: £210 (Inc. VAT)
Double LPA: £285 (Inc. VAT)

In addition to LPA Service fees, you will have to pay additional Court fees to the Office of the Public Guardian.
