LifeSIGNS Self-Injury Guidance & Network Support


Online, user-led voluntary organisation founded in 2002 to raise awareness about self-injury and provide information and support to people of all ages affected by self-injury.They recognise self-injury and self-harm as a way of coping with distressing experiences and difficult emotions, and encourage people to reflect on the issues behind their self-injury and to develop and explore alternative coping mechanisms. LifeSIGNS is managed and led by people with personal experience of self-injury, and are non-judgemental, non-directional and respectful of members' and visitors' life experiences and perceptions.They aim to support all people who are affected in any way by self-injury within the UK and beyond. They support people using self-injury, friends and family of people who self-injure, and professionals who are interested in self-injury.
